Actually it'll work pretty well in the car, you just have to be careful
about a couple of things:

Some of the cheaper 12V->5V power supplies might not have the juice to
power the SliMP3 - make sure it's rated for at least 700ma, as some are
only 500ma.  See if you can find a switching power supply (as opposed to
linear regulated), otherwise you can use a 12VDC->110VAC inverter and the
SliMP3's 110AC->5VDC power supply. That's kinda hokey though.

Also, the player should fit *just barely* in a standard DIN opening. If
it's too snug, you might want to detach the rear PCB, and put the IR
sensor somewhere else.

Officially, we advise against car installation, but as long as you know
what you're doing, it's quite possible and it works great. I'm sure if you
took your SliMP3 down to JoeBob's CarAudio they wouldn't have a clue what
to do with it. :)
