The next firmware update will feature a "kiosk mode", where you can program the player to always skip the setup screen. > Basically, just power it on and music starts going as soon as the > laptop boots. (I may be able to swindle a 166mhz laptop :) ) A 75Mhz laptop is definitely fast enough for this. > I'm a network guy, not an electrician, if I left my RV parked in > storage for say 1 week, your website states it pulls milliamps. > Well, how quickly would that drain the RV's 12v battery system ? > When I'm plugged in at an RV site, I'll have no worries, just when it > is in storage. In standby mode the player uses roughly 250ma @ 5V, or 1.25W. When playing music, with the display on, it's 500 to 600ma. I think a typical RV battery has a capacity of 1KWH, enough to run the SliMP3 for over a month. This is a *very* rough guess - I don't know much about RVs, but yours might have way more battery capacity that that. ------------------------ Yahoo!
