Just hooked up my slimp3 from under the tree and brought up the server on a Red Hat system, running 2.2.14. The IR remote works fine but when I start it playing, say, a single MP3 file, something odd starts happening. Through the first playing, the display works fine. During the second playing, the display flashes on and off. Then during the third playing, the "off" time increases to where the track title merely flashes briefly. Turning on the debugging flags on server.pl, during the third playing, I see this being sent to the display, over and over: ---------------------------------------- |Now playing (1 of 1): | |0. Aspen (Piano Solo) | ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- | | | | ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- | | | | ---------------------------------------- During the second playing, there was only one blank panel each cycle. During the fourth, three blank panels, and so on. Then, if I bring up a web brower on port 9000 of the server, the display adds the root of my MP3 tree to the list of panels sent to the display on each cycle, which creates quite a mess. Has anyone seen this before, or does anyone have any clues as to what's going on? I'm running perl 5.6.1. I suspect there is something amiss with timers or select() in there somewhere. I had to fetch Time::HiRes from CPAN to get server.pl to run. Anyone have any ideas? -- Bob Brown ------------------------ Yahoo!
