(I've already made a few cosmetic changes to the display for my listening style. I hope to so some really neat stuff later.) 2) I didn't have to try to get samba running on my existing store of mp3s. (I already have perl on that box, and I was able to test that the server code basically worked before I dropped money on this thing.) the one feature of the audiotron that kept it in the running for awhile was the s/pdif digital output. but sean has hinted that there will be an upgrade available for the slimp3 before too long. (perhaps even with a coax output instead of the toslink on the audiotron.) also I bought into the minor (though work around -able) concerns about passing all your analog output on the audiotron through the headphone jack, and right next to the power inputs on it way. (there's a decent article from someone who's taken one apart at: http://www.gweep.net/~prefect/eng/audiotron/index.html ) anyway, those were my reasons. and I am happy with my slimp3s. hope that helps some. -michael -- "Live the life you love, use a god you trust, and don't take it all too seriously." -Love and Rockets "A Private Future" To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: [email protected] Your use of Yahoo!
