I tried this, but I'll try it again.

I've also noticed that when I use the 3.1b2 server with it set to 
startup at boot, the server starts, but then stops again when I log 
in.  That is to say, the display on the SLIMP3 comes on, then goes 
off again when I log in.  If I access the server via System 
Preferences it indicates that it's running.  If I stop and restart it 
there, it seems to behave normally.  (Aside from my missing songs.)

The permissions all seem to be the same, but I just noticed that the 
songs that aren't recognized don't have the extension .mp3.  This 
wasn't a problem before.  Did something change in the server?
