I had a flash of insight into one of Jane's more inscrutable lyrics today - at 7:09 am, trying to get my slumbering teenage daughter to WAKE UP, before we're all late - I had 'The Walking' on the stereo (quite loud) - and I had to laugh; the voice was singing,
"...maybe she should go to school /
No, no....she's a table / Lena's a white table "
