I have to disagree, your Gavin might be the second most boy ever in
existance....... The most beautiful is Gavin Samwise Scott, my
step-grandson, born on August 23rd.

It's been an interesting year.

October 26th 2004, I was recruited to start moderating a message board,
involved in autoracing. The person that moderated me, "Zippylady" I had
known through the board. During the process of mentoring me, we became
closer than the aquaintences we had been for the couple years prior. As of
January 1st, we declared our love for each other. The first time we
actually met was over the weekend of Valentine's day, a wonderful week in
fact, and the first second, we "knew" it was it. Next time was when she
came up for Easter, and she got to meet my family. At that time, we were
starting to think about the future and had looked at business property.

After the Easter week, we planned for her to have a longer visit, a few
months with her up here. The closer it came to that time, the more we were
aiming on really not a visit per-se, but a trial start of living together.
And that started our online search for properties, both business and
residential back at my home town of Vernon.

Due to a glitch with Immigration, it became obvioius that we would have to
be a couple as Husband and wife to start the process of immigrating for her.
And thus (as you'd seen mentioned on the boards) we got married on June 20th
2005, in Portland Oregon, with my father and her family present.

All that while, we were house hunting in Vernon, and had chosen a house that
we did buy, as well as the deal to sell off my house in Burnaby. I packed
up a lot of stuff, had to leave a bunch of junk behind, but have the move
started, with my stuff being in storage as we left Canada for New Mexico to
start the process of her selling and move. Back tracking for a second, in
December 04, we found out that her elder son and his wife were expecting....
(Due date to fall on the weekend of a car race we had planned to attend).

The date of our moving from ABQ New Mexico came, and the baby did not
show... Finally the day we were to leave, we needed to drop something off
at that house, and got the "Mom don't leave town" back from her son. We
delayed by a day, and got to see her....our grandson.

That started four days of grouling travel in a 26ft U-Haul with a 2002
Firebird on a car trailer.... To our new house in Vernon.

In the preceeding weeks, we looked at and bought two business, a children's
clothing consignment store, and a coin laundry. And I got signed up for a
job in the electronics department at a new grocery store opening in town. A
hitch on the lease of the coin laundry as well as that building coming up
for sale, we discovered that it would cost us the same to mortgage and buy
the building as rent it, so add that to the list.

October the 7th, while signing the offer on the building, we passed an
autodealer, and LInda spotted a nice red truck..... On the way back we
looked at it, and decided it was not right, but they had a nice shiny 4wheel
drive pickup that was a better deal, so by end of that day, we had a
mortgage lined up, building lined up, and a truck.

October 7th is my birthday. One of the more interesting birthday's I've
had. Becoming a business owner, land lord (well, we will be renting OUR
building to OUR business, but it's better tax wise to do that), truck owner,
and the first birthday spent with the woman I love most in the world......

October the 26th, a year from the day I started down this while road, we
travel back to ABQ for a few days to witness the Christening of her.... I
mean OUR grandson. Gavin Samwise Scott. http://www.daenscott.com/baby2.jpg
the most beautiful boy in the world... And I'M not biased either.

> ok, i'm one of "those" nonnas (grandmothers) who will annoy you with silly
trivia.... - my grandson - Gavin - is 9 months old (born new years day - a
jane's new years baby?) & we were sitting at the computer trying to get my
MP3 program to work correctly - and i tested out with a song that was in my
library "the life is the red wagon." it's playing away and i'm not paying
attention, as i'm looking at settings and such, but mr. gavin is listening
intently & starts singing (a first) and waving at the computer ( a newly
developed skill) and then starts playing his lips with his fingers ( another
recently developed skill). oh what an inspiration our dear jane is. we spent
the rest of the song singing (i joined in - which also fascinated Baby 'G').
it was so fun we played it again. this time we clapped to the base-line
(with help from his nonna). right now his mom and he are swaying to "it
can't rain all the time" - he is listening very soberly and respectfully.
his first dance w!
> ith is
> nonna was to "harmonix". hopefully we'll have a little musically
developed child on our hands. How can he miss with jane for inspiration? ...
and tori - his first listen to music besides hospital crap was "real men" on
the ride home from the hospital.

such silly non-sense about the most beautiful boy ever in existence - you
believe me, right?
