Re: Kate's machinery? DRM?

Evil DRM - digital rights management. Sony has put
software on some music CDs. When you insert the CD
into  Windows and possibly Mac, it will attempt to
install very bad software that protects them from you
- but certainly not the other way around! I hear there
are ways to avoid the software being installed.
However, this software is a form of "rootkit" (please
don't ask for explanation, just look it up) and it may
not be possible to uninstall it! Making valiant
efforts to uninstall resulted in one researcher
completely hosing his computer - and this guy knew
what he was doing!

So how's that for evil?
