Briefly: A friend of mine gave me a massage in 1986 to No Borders Here and
Speckless Sky. Then I saw her live for the first time in '87 and that was it.
I was hooked. I think I wrote about this before but after that show my
friend who had turned me onto her and another friend waited around in the lobby
to meet Jane. Another friend and I left and were walking down the sidewalk
and I realized that we were walking next to her back-up singers. I told them
that I thought they were great and that friends of mine were in waiting to
meet Jane and Rebecca Jenkins asked me if I wanted to meet Jane. She took me
in and went and got Jane and brought her out to me. I, of course, said
something really lame but it was really fun and my friends showed up at the bar at
which we were meeting later and they hadn't gotten to meet her. I gloated.
