I boughtB "Travelogue" when it came out with great expectations after the two
orchestral covers on "Both Sides Now".B  I was disappointed.B  I felt that the
arrangements were overpowering and too sweeping.B  I put it on again not that
long ago and liked it better so, perhaps I just need to spend more time with
it.

I recently came across an "album advance" copy of Joni's 2002 "Travelogue".
orgeous, simply gorgeous.  It's an orchestral concert, but in the liner notes,
he producer makes sure you know that it's not a 'greatest hits with orchestra'
lbum, but rather a cross-section of her songs recorded with a lush beautiful
rchestra behind her.  Moving and sad and thrilling and amazing all at once.

lmost spiritually, by the song "Shadows and Light" as it was done in

The band is TDF!!: Pastorius, Metheny, Michael Brecker, Don Alias, Lyle
Mays. I cannot  think of a band supporting a singer with more technical
"chops" than this one. Fortunate Joni.
