So as I told you last week WIWAB was the first time I heard of Jane, though it was because of BBTB the second album I experienced. And experience seems to be the right word As I thought of BBTB as some kind of country-folk-sweet-small-world-and-here-I-am album, WIWAB turned out be something completely different. It was also the first album by Jane I bought. mmm gimme you call that hard? you call this cool? thats nothing. come on come on Temple appeals to me as this yearning song. Wanting it so badly it hurts well its not tough enough And it was already Tracy who mentioned this sweet young high voice so innocent, so determined I also want into the temple thats there to be mine to be entered thats how I feel about Temple. (Years later I received this song as a cd single, with all those remixes, and I can still play it again and again and again - its just a very strong song). Calling All Angels Dont know whether I want to be short about this one, or if I should go over board Its one hell of a song intense, deeply human, so sensitive BUT I feel its somehow over used. Its heard everywhere (if you listen), its been covered too much to leave it in its own sweet universe. I felt so vulnerable when I watched that Six Feet Under episode. I was moved at the end of Pay It Forward. And the version made for PIF was so more intense, had so much more power with this huge choir at the end huge but not too long It gets to me in some unusual way. Love Is Everything. Simply love it. But not just simply. I like the normal version more than the harmony version because of its vulnerability. Its so beautiful in such I-feel-so-small-but-I-will-survive-way. And I do love the last verse You try too love bigger, bigger still, but its too late And boy, does it break my body down And I gave it big sometimes in my own sweet time, and Im just leaving Im willing. Im bending. Im wondering. I am trembling. Im trying. Love is... Not much more to add. Where will come from? From this place I suppose. The talking, and then the singing, then the notion of smallness theres a theme Sweet Incarnadine. I can not talk about this song without getting emotional. This is such a huge song to me. Somehow it feels so real, no thinking, just saying, its overwhelming. And dont we all cry like a child? Somehow the Gospel kind of fell together with the knowledge that a friend had lost his mother way too early. So this song became his song. And I do love it for that. But its also so huge because of the sweet conversation inside. I know you understand. The strange strength of the second I see you lookin around at the people verse also makes me time after time very soft. I still havent figured out what An Angel Stepped Down is about. Still, to me, the strength of the song lies in the way it builds up, all the way to I Believe That Love Is The Only Thing That Will Heal Us All. And boy, if ever I would ask for such a dance! This album has always felt to me as an introduction, an overture to the last two songs, being The Vigil and At The Beginning Of Time. It all adds up to those two, doesnt it? The Vigil being one of the most touching songs I ever heard. I cant express how I feel every time I hear it, and I better not hear it at the wrong moment or Ill end up lost and in tears, and why it gets to me to so much, I have no idea. Its only a movie, I know, but still Bells are cute, and recognizable, and a very well found transition. One night or was it day I dont know. Maybe just black and just sound. Wow shes just awesome. You have to go through the sequence of songs to understand the picture of the woman (man) when she (he) was still a boy and now reflecting and rememberingIt really was the quality of blackness, and the absence of fear and we were waiting not knowing I may have talked about WIWAB as a book, mostly lyrical but I dont think the lyrics would be so strong if they werent accompanied by such pointing music and such singing with the right timbre, the right emotion, the right angle angel whatever. I think WIWAB is definitely worth its status, but not for its ability to let Jane be known to the world. It should be recognized as one hell of an album, book, movie, painting, suit, body of thoughts and inspiration. Love is everything in a harmony version I still wonder whose idea that was Koen PS Love IS everything! _________________________________________________________________ Installeer gratis de nieuwe Messenger http://download.live.com/messenger
