Re: SoJ/I, Week Ten: "Maria"

I love this record but didn't immediately.  There is much of Jane's
catalogue that isn't easy but that is exactly what has held me for
twenty-three years.  I am challenged.both musically and lyrically.  This
record was challenging for me but after a few listens, I was blown away.  I
think "See the Child" is amazing.  I think the whole record is.
Saw this tour live also at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.  She
did a bunch of covers - opened with "Moon River" - it was a great show.  She
had a jazz quartet and it was really great.  Always stretching her
boundaries.  Always expanding - gotta love that.
