OK, I've found out how to subscribe to Silence nowadays. (The mailing list software shifted out from under us, and finding the right information was trickier than it should be,) Send a message to [email protected] with the subject subscribe silence YourFirstName YourLastName and nothing in the body Please pass this on to anyone who has been trying to subscribe. I hope to recreate an official info page for the list in the next few days. By the way, in poking around the admin pages, i found that we have about 950 subscribers on this list, which is far more than I had thought! Thanks to all who read, post, and participate.
