I don't even fully understand the reasoning or content of the original "scolding" but from what I could decipher: Bill himself has never been very interested in self-promotion (or so I assume so since he never did much of it). Until MoD except for the Axiom website & maybe one or two others were never maintained. They "started" & then were seemingly abandoned. So, criticize Bill instead of others for inadequate promotion. Is talk of older releases not better than NO talk at all? Idk how many people are on this forum (or pay attention to it) but it's probably less than 40 or so. If every one of them bought every release idk how much it would help or alter the number of releases. The current state of the music biz is unlikely to be solved or effected much by the 30 people on this forum regardless of what we did. Many of us don't live in Europe or N.Y. so are unlikely to be able to support live shows. ---------- Original Message ----------

Assume for a moment that this place is something like a fan forum, no, actually *the* fan forum, since no other for this purpose exists. Then it is understatement to state that there is a communication problem from both sides and it is impossible to deny that. From that side which is supposed to be doing management/PR. Nothing new, been this way all the time. And from that side who are fans or supporters or what else and associated here, not only posting to threads like this one past 40+ years or so but also trading collectibles like unreleased material, but then failing in the disciplines which make projects a popular success. It is a miracle, actually a complete paradoxon, that despite this there are 1,000 or so official releases with Bill Laswell's name written on one or the other way. And a few shows live. With my occasional postings, I point to the possibility that a lot more could and should happen, and it's in the hands of both sides. There are projects to be brought on stage and on media. And I quite like it being aggressed at, way to go people, aggression still better than indifference.
