My name is Anne Roberson,
and I am an English teacher at Ironwood High School in the Peoria
District. My class will be starting a month-long unit on the
culture, history, and literature of the Renaissance. Our primary
literary piece is Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet.

Every year that I teach this unit, I find some way to
make it memorable for my students. This year, I wanted to plan
something very special. I am writing you to ask if you would be
interested in participating.

My students are usually quite enthusiastic about the
literature of the Renaissance, but I have never provided enough
information on the culture of that time period. This year, I would
like to give my students a chance to study the dance, music, and
past-times of this era. I feel that this information would benefit
my students immensely and help encourage them to actively seek out
educational experiences. In addition, I would like my students to
acquire a deeper appreciation for the arts.

I have three classes that will be participating in
this unit. If you would be interested in coming to speak to my
students, please feel free to contact me. I would greatly
appreciate any information you could send, as well.
