Hail and Well Met! The Great Lakes Medieval Faire is
proud to announce our new ownership of The Old Tavern and
Restaurant in Unionville, Ohio! To kick off our opening
celebration we will be holding a Celtic Fest! Featuring
everyone’s favorite musician Owain Fyfe! Strolling minstrels such
as Silent Lion will be on hand to entertain throughout the
weekend! We will start our Celtic celebration on Friday, January
31st at 5:00 PM – 10:00PM and it will continue through Sunday
February 2nd. performers will be performing, The Old Tavern
and Restaurant is of a Victorian era. If you were interested in
wearing a costume (garb), one of a Victorian era would be
appropriate.

The Old Tavern and Restaurant is a great place for lunches,
dinners and an overall place where friends can meet and enjoy a fine
meal.

The Old Tavern and Restaurant features a fantastic array of foods
that will tempt any palette! Lunch and dinner menus available, and don’t
forget our famous Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet on Friday night 5-9 or our
fabulous Sunday brunch 9-2! Alcoholic beverages are also
available.

The Old Tavern and Restaurant started as a log cabin in 1798 on
the original campsite of the surveyors who sculpted the great state of
Ohio from what was then known as the Connecticut Western Reserve.
After several years of diligent work Ohio is born on March 1,
1803. The Old Tavern and Restaurant is recognized on the
National Register of Historic Buildings as the oldest Tavern and
Restaurant in Ohio.

The Old Tavern and Restaurant is built alongside the old Indian
trail that stretched from Buffalo to Cleveland. The Old Tavern
began its heritage as a stagecoach stop with the finest home
cooking. Later it not only served the weary pioneers and locals,
but also secretly housed and fed the slaves as part of the Underground
Railroad on their way North to Canada to escape from danger. At all risks
The Old Tavern and Restaurant realized the need to care for all men by
providing comfort and warm meals for all. It has since become an
icon in the community as one of the most respected dining establishments
in Ohio. The Old Tavern still retains much of the Charm and Romance
of days gone by. Come experience The Old Tavern and Restaurant

The Old Tavern and Restaurant‘s colorful past includes a character
from Harriet Beecher Stowe's book, Uncle Tom's Cabin. Some visitors
include Thomas Edison and Henry Ford who have partied, dined and slept
overnight here at the Tavern. Visitors can feel the history of
these famous rooms or experience some of the tunnels and narrow stairways
of the Underground Railroad.

The Old Tavern and Restaurant is located on South Ridge Road
(State Route 84) at County line Road in Unionville, OH. This is
centrally located between Madison and Geneva. From the Geneva Exit
# 218 (the Medieval Faire Exit), turn North on State Route 534 and then
Left on Route 84 (South Ridge Road) (Dairy Mart will be at this
intersection) From here head West approximately 2 miles. The Old
Tavern and Restaurant will be on the right at County line Road.

From the Madison Exit # 212, turn North on State Route 528 and then
Right on Route 84 (South Ridge Road) Follow Route 84
approximately 2 miles and The Old Tavern and Restaurant will be on the
left at County line Road.

& Saturday 11:30am til 9:00pm
