I left the Zest list because a few people took themselves way too seriously and wore their self-importance on their sleeve. It felt like people were talking about life or death or a cure for cancer rather than an electronic music band. It was not a comfortable place for me. You've cleverly demonstrated why you are such a good fit for the group as I've described (even if in reality it's mostly good people without egos -- I wouldn't know). I didn't "flounce off in a rage". I did precisely as Wouter advised.
I've come to grips with the arrogant prick I used to be. I hope some day you will have a similar epiphany.

If you hadn't flounced off in a rage, you'd have seen confirmation posted that the band were getting royalties on this 'Official Bootleg' release.
I don't for the life of me get why you think it would be impossible to contact Chris Franke. He still has an active career doing soundtrack work for film and TV (see his website), how do you think TV producers hire him and pay him? He also still is a member of GEMA for getting composer royalties. It's his dayjob.

If by that you mean "pretty much everyone's heard of it and mention of releases fairly regularly crops up from time to time in threads" then yes, you're right. Except you wouldn't know that was you aren't a member of the group, having stormed off in a fit of pique due to some perceived slight.

If by that you mean "Virgin Records" is still an active label, wholly owned by EMI, who still hold Tangerine Dream's backcatalogue 1974 to 84 on their books, then yes, you're absolutely right! :-D

If by that you mean "without the band playing all those concerts and various individuals and broadcasters making recordings of them, we would have NOTHING..." then again, you are remarkably perspicacious. Well done!
