All along the CDR burning process, one must consider the burning speed... This article explains why. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov04/articles/qa1104-3.htm Since I have burnt my CDR using x 2 speed and never encounterd any issues. I used Sony, Memorex and in the old days, Kodak CDRS. If I remember well all of the el cheapos' CDRs were coming from the same factory in Taiwan, realtek or something in that line. If stuck with a bad CDR, you can try recovering its data with EAC freeware, use the maniac mode!!! Keep the CDR away from direct heat source, sunlight, chemicals and fingerprints. Label side of the CD is extremely vulnerable and any scratch can compromise future playing. Never apply any paper/glue on the CDR.
