I was excited to hear about the album when it was first announced, but its release might have been eclipsed by all the chatter about whether to not Peter might be returning to TD.   There were also so many different version released I think people may have been confused about which to order. 

 

It is an enjoyable retro flashback, but I was a bit disappointed in how short it was (like a 70s album), and I didn’t notice any substantial musical development since that time.   It sounded a lot like his late 70s work, with updated sounds.

 

Maybe he just needs time to get up to speed on the new technology, to do something more groundbreaking.    Perhaps more releases are to come.  I am glad I bought it, but was also glad I didn’t go for one of the deluxe packages that was offered.

This place is pretty dead these days.  I've not seen anyone commenting on anything useful or interesting for a few weeks, maybe months

 

Certainly can't remember any reviews/comments about Machines of Desire.

 

Official forum had some comments but not many
