Elsewhere in this thread, Incantations (1978) was mentioned. I don't know how to find that exact post and reply to it, so I'll just do it this way.

If anyone here has not heard this album yet, you really owe it to yourself to give it a go. IMO this is probably the very greatest album of the entire 1970s (yeah, I know what I'm suggesting by this. Not saying you'll agree, but you just might), and easily Oldfield's masterwork. It may not end as great as it begins, but when you start at damned near perfection... yeah. I really wasn't prepared for this album to be *that* good, especially since the couple after TB1 slowly diminished in quality from that landmark release, and by the '80s his stuff was very different indeed.
