I quite like the current TD's improvised stuff on Particles and in particular the Sessions EP. I appreciate it's using modern equipment, but very enjoyable. The Sessions tracks were recorded live, does this mean they've introduced a Berlin School style improvised set, or were these one offs?

Early and mid-70s would be hard to reproduce because it was
improvised: you can't ever go back, and in a way it's wrong to try to.

I don't think they've got the old equipment any more. It was
temperamental, went out if tune all the time, and broke down
regularly. Pete Namlook bought Klaus Schulze's Big Moog, and I think
Klaus was glad to be rid of it.

I saw the TD Phaedra anniversary concert about a decade ago and it was
all done on soft synths. That worked pretty well, but it's never
exactly the same.
