Welcome back…
You won’t see much activity here anymore. Much of it has moved to Facebook (The Zest in particular). Several members and friends of the band participate in that group.
The second disc of Particle is significant because t was one of the first live performances after Edgar’s passing. I enjoy the improvisational releases, but the sound quality / mixes are sometimes a bit noisy for my ears. But that is the nature of live performances I suppose.
There are two TD concerts this week, but I will be surprised if anyone posts here about them.
Another TD related project you may have missed if you have been away for as long as you say is LOOM (which includes Johannes Schmoelling, Jerome Froese and Rob Waters).

Subject: [tadream] Catching up: Sessions
It's been a while since I actively followed TD's output, going on some 7-8 years focusing elsewhere. But I recently got all three (?) recent releases with improv material— Particles, Sessions I, Sessions II — and they're great stuff. Sessions I might be the best TD album since sometime Chris Franke was still around. I am sure 70s TD fans have got to be happy about this development.
Sure it is an all-new band by now, but somehow they do not end up sounding like just any random modern Berlin School group. It seems that the new lineout has been really studying the legacy they've inherited, or either Edgar has managed to transmit some quiet knowledge about the Old Days to Thorsten after all amidst the more polished releases they've put out together. (In principle Ulrich too, but he only joined not that much before Edgar's death.. Hoshiko has remained just a violinist, right? Or does she have composition credits on anything?)
The basically cover piece material on Particles I could take or leave though. Rubycon is competent but doesn't add anything to what the original does already. CD 2 still has the kind of overly rich and kind of asphyxiating sound that most of TD's revisited classic material has had since roughly Valentine Wheels. Highlights very well the value of original composition really..
I should probably continue from here towards the Quaeschning / Schnauss side project. Anything other of especial interest that has come out in the last few years? I've noticed some more Tangerine Tree material bubbling up as bonus tracks on re-releases, but that hasn't seemed like a priority. And I got Baumann's comeback album, but that's about it.
