Re: Autobiography thoughts

Similar thoughts how some things are in vivid detail, and others seem to barely get a mention. But it just goes to show what things we, as individuals, consider important memories.

On the latter years, I’m wondering if Edgar was thinking “eh, Jerome is just going to write his own book”...

Some initial impressions after reading this about a third of the way.

  *   The book is huge! bigger than I was really expecting. Some of it is due to a not that small font size, but it is also a ton of content.
  *   Regardless it seems that it only covers half as much material as Edgar might have hoped to include. I would have expected e.g. a dedicated chapter for Sorcerer or the Ricochet tour, given how most other big tours and soundtracks get their own chapters, but nope, no such thing in there.
  *   Apparently the first part of the RAH 1975 concert was a technical and band-dynamical trainwreck! sounds great to me anyway, though, and maybe explains why it's such a unique concert compared to others from its era.
  *   A very dedicated fan single-handedly financing the sorta oddly located Chicoutimi 1977 concert? Hilarious *and* impressive.
  *   Did anyone know about how TD in fact broke up the first time already in 1978? or was this kept completely under the wraps until now? The timeline seems off though: in one chapter Edgar claims he went six months without contact with Chris Franke, but between the European tour ending in late March and them reconvening and recording Force Majeure in the summer only allows for four-ish months at the most.
  *   Unexpected TD contributors: Chris Franke's girlfriend arranging a classical cover on a new piece of equipment that then hastily gets drafted as the coda of Force Majeure to reach contract requirements for a full-length LP.
  *   The writeups of the band members (their introductions, departures, anecdotes during tours, etc.) seem mostly fair and quite interesting, but I get the feeling there was still a lot of unsettled baggage between EF ad CF 'til the end. Maybe rekindled rather than long-standing? there WAS the some kind of a lawsuit drama going on last decade after all.
  *   The entire Seattle/TDI years period from 90 to about 2005 is covered by just a single megachapter, much more briefly than earlier history. A smart decision maybe, though I would have still loved to have Edgar's detailed views looking back on e.g. the Dream Mixes series or the Mars Polaris / Great Wall of China duplex.
