I’m not saying that new fans need to pay old prices, but at least respect the collecting circle of older fans.
These releases are being sold for bucks on eBay, etc..
Back then we couldn’t Google and download for free. We had to have friends, communicate & trade (letters). No instant gratification.
I’ve been on this list for over 20+ years too.
I spoke with Edgar about EO release. He was mad, because all of the tracks were copyrighted and he could not release them.
I had nothing to do with this release, but I understand the frustration.

I agree, I’m all for paying for music and have spend large amount on it already, I have been collecting TD for example since 80’. Unfortunately, some of these “limited” editions are no longer available or if they are, they are at exaggerated prices and in many cases, tracks that were included on them , are available nowhere else. It is easy for us, whom already own such things, to judge peoples who are trying to discover some of the limited or obscure releases of their favorite bands. It was always spirit of TD community, especially with Trees & Leaves, to share some stuff as long as nobody is making money of it.

I don’t think that’s a fair assessment.

I’ve been on this mailing list for the better part of 20 years, was part of the TT project (sending to list member in New Zealand) and got Electronic Orgy at the time but never had a chance to get EO2.

Electronic Orgy led to Edgar Froese blowing his top and tasking the band’s lawyers to find out who created it in the first (had a vague recollection on this but it’s confirmed on voices-in-the-net).

And If was a limited edition then it was ever harder for people to get so what chance would they have 20 years later?

Way back, we paid big bucks for these releases...

And now the new genre wants everything for free.

Listening via smartphone while not looking for cars as crossing a crosswalk..

Or looking at life in general.
