There is nothing I care about that much that I would back up twice let alone once. I have over 6,000 CDs so when one goes: who cares! Always something new to listen to. Won't be taking them to the grave.

3 factors are determining the longevity of the CDR:
1.Quality of the media itself. There was some crappy stuff out there. Choosing and investing in a good brandname will pay down the road.2.Burn-in speed, ideally 2x or 4x.3.Storage. Avoid extreme conditions.
As suggested, backup is always a safe bet.

How long are cdrs supposed to last? The blue room disc is 20 years old now. I should check my copy too. My only concern's been the disc label peeling off.
