First, make sure you have everything configured correctly on the Win2K
client, such bbdisplay and bbpager hosts, using the bbntcfg.exe program.

If that looks OK and the service is running, make sure you can telnet to
port 1984 of the bbdisplay server. Just try to connect, and that should
verify that communication is good.

One of the most common problems is case mismatch. Make sure your entry in
bb-hosts on the bbdisplay servers matches the Win2K name EXACTLY, case and
everything, and FQDN is set the same on both systems.

By that way, you don't need to put "cpu msgs" in the bb-hosts file. You
only have to make entries that the BB Server will test (generally network
tests).

Hope that helps.

Subject: {bbd} NT client notification

Hi,

I have installed the BB Client version v1.08b on my Win 2K machine, and
I have started the bbnt.exe. Also, I have added the following line to
bb-hosts on my UNIX BB server:
             0.0.0.0 mymachine_name # cpu msgs

My problem I can see my Win2K machine on the BBDISPLAY but I'm not
getting the cpu and msgs report from my Win2K client. All I see is a
dash for the two columns.

Am I missing something? Please help.

Thanks

Chieu
