Problems with BB on Dual-Opteron

Hey there,

I'm currently facing enormous problems with BB on a SUN V40z/2xOpteron
844/2.6 Kernel/Gentoo Linux || SLES 9.
This systems runs a BB-client that sends data to a BB-server via Ethernet.

After restarting the BB-client several times by calling "sh runbb.sh
restart" the system crashes with a kernel panic.

Have similar errors been reported in the past? Are there already hints on
how to fix this?

I administer BB on several HW-platforms, including Alphas, x86's and this
Opteron, but this problem only occurs with the opteron. I know that SLES 9
isnt in the list of supported OSes but SuSE8 is, and one of the major
changes from SuSE8 to SLES9 is the switching of kernel version 2.4 to 2.6.
I currently dont assume this problem beeing kernel specific ( at least not
overall, maybe just the 2.6 with opteron/dual CPUs ), since on a x86 with
kernel 2.6 BB runs smoothly.
Haven't tried it with a 2.4 kernel on the opteron but going to do this
tomorrow.
