To get a handle on what is going wrong, I'd try something like the following as the BB user (changing the BBHOME path as appropriate). export BBHOME=/home/bb/bb1.9i-btf cd $BBHOME . etc/bbsys.sh set -x . etc/bbinc.sh That should give you a more specific reason as to why the comparison is failing.
