A little background - I've been a cross-platform C++ developer for a decade mainly on Windows and Mac and am comfortable with old-fashioned Makefiles for building on Unix, never used autoconf or configure or more recent idioms. I'm more than capable of editing VC projects etc. but I want to keep what I'm doing compatible with your aims and there's stuff which isn't documented (happy to do so) which I just don't understand. I'm also, as a matter of urgency, trying to get beepcore-c going on PocketPC using Embedded VC and hope to contribute back. Can someone who is an active developer PLEASE explain in mind-numbing detail exactly where the files live on their system a) which they edit, build, test b) as they are checked into CVS. I'm utterly confused because the CVS tree is not a buildable tree (except possibly under Unix, and then only if files move). I don't get this. I've worked in two different organisations using CVS for 3 years and everyone I ever knew using CVS had a tree which you checked out and compiled. Your working area matched the CVS repository - files didn't mysteriously move as a result of building. I hate feeling stupid. -- Andy Dent BSc MACS AACM http://www.oofile.com.au/ OOFILE - Database, Reports, Graphs, GUI for c++ on Mac, Unix & Windows PP2MFC - PowerPlant->MFC portability ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com
