I've got a pair of patches that I thought I'd try to submit before we started moving directories around. The first is one that I submitted a while ago; it changes C++ style // comments to /* */ C comments. Good to have on some systems where the former produce lots of errors. I've checked the Doc++ documentation, and that seems to indicate that it can handle comments in either format (I think this was the objection last time). This patch is available at <http://users.sdsc.edu/~small/beepcore/beepcore-c-comment-fmt.patch>. The second patch adds checks for error conditions, and cleans up some code (it made it clearer to me, and it may for others). This detects several segfaults, and prevents at least one. I also added some structure to the examples so that they could be run in place.
