Sorry, the following is the output from beepd (after which I terminate it):

SINK connection_init
SR connection_init
ECHO session_init: role='L' mode="plaintext"
SINK session_init: role='L' mode="plaintext"
SR session_init: role='L' mode="plaintext"
SR greeting_notification status=P

Subject: [Beepcore-c-users] Hang in beepng

Hi

If I terminate the example beepd program at a certain stage of the
communication, e.g. after it has output the following lines

ECHO connection_init
ECHO session_init: role='I' mode="plaintext"

the initiator (beepng) seems to hang (using null/sink profiles).

On p.103 of the O'Reilly book (BEEP - The Definitive Guide - March 2002), it
says that bp_start_request blocks execution until an answer is received from
the remote peer. Would this explain the above problem? If so, is there a
proposed solution or a solution in progress? (I presume this is bug 486257?)
If this does not explain the hang I'm observing, does anyone have an idea of
the cause? bp_start_request does a SEM_WAIT on user_sem1 .. does anyone
know if there is a POST missing , or where exactly I should look? What is
user_sem1 used for exactly?
Many thanks,
Helen Ryan
