The "Illegal session state transition" exception was added just so I can get
all of the code paths doing the same state transitions. If you remove the
throw it should work as before. Would you mind submitting a bug for this? I
will fix it once I finish with the bug I'm currently working on. Unless, of
course, you wanted to fix it and submit a patch ;-)
