Enquiry on RR/IDXP

Hi,

I am currently doing my Honours thesis which require me to conduct experimentation on the RR/IDXP. The testing aims to validate the properties of IDXP as well as testing rr/idxp under various conditions using 2 networked PCs running on Linux platform. For a start,i have installed roadrunner onto both PCs.

Being very new to the field, i wish to seek clarifications and help to the following issues:

1.)Is the roadrunner independent of the rr/idxp, do i need to install rr/idxp as the profile to be used together with roadrunner. 

2.)How do i verify roadrunner to be working? i tried to run the example but received connect() failed message.

3.)Is there any documentation available that will assist the usage of both the roadrunner and rr/idxp.

4.)Both me and my supervisors wish to contribute to the development of rr/idxp. How can we have access to the tests and results conducted on rr/idxp so as to devise the testing procedures?

As time is running out, i really appreciate any help being offered.
