AC_CANONICAL_SYSTEM

Hi all,

let me first say that I'm not very familiar with automake/autoconf etc;
so this might not make sense.

However, I'm wondering why there's no AC_CANONICAL_SYSTEM in the
various configure.in files. As things stand right now, I have to
run autogen.sh with some combination of --target and/or --host,
which doesn't make much sense to me.
