I agree completely.  Start a new BNR3 group and lock it down under moderator
control.

I fail to see the point of removing them from the web when by the time
it's done it's been emailed to everybody anyway.

Actually, as the moderators/owners seem totally disinterested in
making the simple changes required, I am wondering if the time has
come to say forget this group and start a new one called BNR2 or BNR3
to be run by people who are concerned about the spam and configure it
properly.
