Anyone of my 3 BNR setups I use for the main have not been idle for one
minute over the lst few years, and I expect a lot longer.

Its up to you, if you want to pay more for something than I do, as I said
I try to pay as little as I can for everything. When I buy a car I get
what is classed as a pre reg, I just saved (two months ago) £8000 on my S
class because the dealer (like every main dealer does to keep the sales
numbers up for the 2 times a year that they count) registered it for the
new plate before they had someone to buy it... I admit it did have 530
miles on the clock, where as if I had gave them the 8 grand I could have
had less than 200.

Big deal, most people dont like to ask "what pre reg deals have you got ?"
it means nothing to me.

As said 30 KB/sec is a limit... but I have more than 10 servers limited to
around that per connection, with only one of them that will only let me
connect with one connection. I have at least 3 or 4 connections with each
other server... work it out.

As normal my connection is maxed out. The limation is in your head and
that suits me fine. I have just put ~7.5 GB in my que and that will be
done by the morning and I very much doubt that I will have had to pay for
any of it, but if I do... its no matter. I will just put about the same in
and go out for the day.

Its not the cost, its the fact that I dont have to pay, I have only been
saying in another group that I did say 10 or 15 years ago that I would
never pay for usenet. But now I say your silly to play with bin files
without one.

As for always searching for free servers, that is in the past, I have been
at it long enuff to know the addys of every testing server there is, and
every now and then I open up a connection to one of the servers that is
not working to check it that can take up 20 seconds per server depending
on the authinfo timeout.

I got 3 months on testnews.megabitz.net before (and 2 months on
news.easynews.nl testing server before that) it got posted in afn, and yes
it now has a que to get in, but as I have said I dont sit watching my
downloader it is set to retry all on its own, and it goes down thru the
list of servers with my 5 pay servers at the bottom of the list, last
month I expect I used less than 50 GB of my pay servers for the 100's of
GB I did download, as I said its not a big deal.

I have just checked and for last month I used 3.4 GB with my shortest
server that I use for overviews (which are free) and 2.73 GB with my long
server and that was it for ~400 GB all of the rest was free, that was much
better than I thought :)

But then if everyone could do it I expect that the que's would be longer
on the few that have a que. I am not going to keep going on about it, but
as said... I dont like the Gimp and do use Photoshop its the way it is.
