Thanks for all the various advice.  I tried on/off and frankly don't see any
difference on my system.   I have it set to OFF for now.  Have a great 4th

If you say so... simply try testing the options yourself. I made a copy 
of my BNR3 folder just today and made 1 synchronous=off and the other 
synchronous=on. The "ON" one took 41 minutes to update 1 group in a 
600mb database and the "OFF" one took 16 minutes. I believe that the 
default is "ON" so if your mouse cursor is acting erratic and BNR3 
seems incredibly slow to you... then you might want to try 
synchronous=off. YMMV Have a great 4th!
