Seems some may not have known and others forgotten but BNR3 was an
Alpha and was not completed. Those of us who lament some of the
features not implemented should not be confused with folks just hating
on BNR.

I love BNR and use it all the time but that does not stop me from
wanting improvements. No it's not perfect and even the developers knew
that. Here's are some previous posts when they were active.

The above post is Jeff confirming that Patrick never implemented the
rebuilding of the queue that BNR2 had.

I'll quote the relevant part of this one:

"BNR3 is just BNR2 using SQLite instead of a custom database. BNR3
may eventually replace BNR2, but it is not complete enough or fast
enough yet to replace it just yet."

I've made the comment in another post that BNR3, although an alpha, is
rock stable. Much more stable than BNR2. The Hierarchial combining
that was THE feature for BNR3 (besides using the SQLite Database) was
a huge time saver.

I love BNR3 and haven't found anything that I like better. Newsman Pro
came closest and has many of the features I would love to see in BNR3.
BNR3 is stable and works fine. But that does NOT stop me from wishing
it had better filtering or that they'd finished adding other features
they were going to.
