I dont understand why BNR3 is not an option if you can run 2 then with a bit of fine tuning BNR3 is just as fast and far more powerful. I have posted all of my work-a-rounds that make it go just as fast as 2 and never crash. But I have seen that quite a few others have re posted some of my .bat files with parts missing and things like the sync off. The best way I have found is to make the sqLite page file the right size for YOUR computer seems missed by many, use contig to de-frag the msglst before you start, all done in the bat files I have posted. I have also posted the reason why BNR2 can crash when opening a group, dont do so when getting new headers and so on. But if BNR was working fine before you changed to KDE 4.2 then that is where the problem would be, I have heard many say its none too stable, I have never liked (or used) the KDE shell anyway. But as BNR works so well with Win2000 I see no reason to change the computer it runs on, my older Athlon XP2600, its still the most powerful windows OS that runs for months at a time on a 5 year old install that does take almost 50 seconds to reboot, but defrags the C:// and D:// and the registry in that time as well. Cant wait for the new look Vista or W7 to offer nothing new.
