Thanks for the replies about installing bnr on ubuntu.

In fact I have installed wine on my ubuntu driven pc, and run bnr2 under
wine, and I have to say it works faultlessly:-)

easier for me than all the complicated libraries and other bits, but i
am sure i will learn to handle linux better in time.
