Hi mk

I had the same problem and got to the same point as you.  The next step is to create a display filter of "killed" posts.

Just in case you have not created a filter before:
Open the Newsgroup
Click the FltCfg button
Click the New button
Change Unnamed to Killed
Click the Flags tab and select "Killed" in "Show ONLY if marked as"
Click OK
a new Killed button will appear

Click this button, select all and mark as read
Unclick the button and proceed without the spam
