Cacti logging 6 hrs in the past

Hello, I have been looking through docs and forum posts for several days and trying the various fixes, but I haven't been successful at fixing the issue. I upgraded Cacti to 0.8.7.i via the instructions on the cacti website so that I could get Nectar working correctly. Nectar loaded and worked, but I noticed that my graphs were not updating. I watched logs and found errors because the time was off. I tried poller.php -force, but it did not work that I could tell. Graph updates started working overnight, but I suspect that is just because the time caught up. So the graphs are updating but they are updating 6 hours in the past. If I dump an rrd file, the most recent dates are 6 hours in the past, but the cacti show tech shows the correct time and timezone. I suspect that the rrdupdate thinks it is getting GMT time and subtracting 6 hours for CST, but in reality it is getting CST to start with. I want to save the year of historical data that I have, but I am not sure how to get the timing back on track. (I don't care about having lost the last few days). How can I get Cacti to start logging to the correct time again? Where should I look for problems?
