Sure. What you discovered is plain old rrdtool aggregation. So it's in there by purpose.
You may change RRAs to change the consolidation timespan coverage. See http://docs.cacti.net/manual to find a procedure to mass-change RRAs. But make sure to read the chapters on rrdtool consolidation to understand, how it works

All,

I found the answer to my question. Cacti does aggregate data that is 3 days old. I tested this by simply setting the dropdown to 1 day and moving back up to 3 days old data and doing it daily to confirm the aggregation.

But still I don't know why it's like this. I think usually users think that when you use the 1 day and scan for previous days the aggregation stays but seems like it changes on 3 days old data.

Oh in addition, I did not set any preset since it will aggregate the data. I'm simply checking the traffic on a daily basis backwards using the left arrow and dropdown set to "1 Day".

Using <-- or --> and dropdown is set to "1 Day" to see the traffic per day without changing the aggregation, does cacti aggregate the data for the previous days (specifically 3 days before)? Seems like it does because for example the traffic for today and previous day seems the same but
 going further back (clicking <--) the traffic shows smaller and the lines in the graphs starts to look thicker.

Any idea?
