Can these values then be graphed in Cacti? ... *yes it can*
Is this a good way to go about this? ... *not a good way*
How can I pass these values to Cacti, so they can be recorded into an RRD
file? ... *you can use Script queries (i'm not sure what the exact menu, i
don't have access to cacti right now) to graph it into cacti ....*
