Unknown values, Averages, missing data points

Hi All,

 

Got a little issue trying to make availability from an RRD datasource.
Basically have a ping latency rrd and using the Unknown values to
signify downtime.  That bit is fine.

 

And is using 

        cdef=CURRENT_DATA_SOURCE,UN,INF,0,IF

if anybody else wants it.  Then just graph that as red  area or whatever
on the graphs.

 

 

The bit I am having issue with is the total % availability as such. This
currently uses a CDEF of

          cdef=CURRENT_DATA_SOURCE,UN,0,100,IF

and in most cases I get an AVERAGE of 100 for a day for a device that
was available.  

 

The issue I have in cacti if I view a graph on the tree for last day @
12:03 for example I get an average back of 99.65 

 

What I think is happening is as there isn't data for 12:03 so I am
getting an unknown value back which is being converted to 0 by the CDEF.


 

(86400 Seconds-300 Seconds / 86400 Seconds =99.65% ~ (Full Day - 1
DataPoint) / Full Day

 

So what I effectively need is some way of say if first/last value in
dataset is UNKNOWN then set it to 100 not 0 otherwise its safe to assume
device was down.  Any help would be appreciated.
