There was no reply to my question of June 2013.

Perhaps some graphs will help explain it.

2 months of SMTP delivery stats:

This is the same graph item for an overlapping period where 2/3
of the data in the first graph should show in the second graph.

What should I look at as the source to this problem?  Is it
something with rrdtool or some option I can set?
