keeping the history

hello all,

further to the recent thread, concerning the removal old messages from
history, i would be grateful if someone could share their experience
in STORING those old messages? just in order to find something when
you need it :).

do you keep the history in any way?

the simplest solution that comes to my mind is some scripting that
could rename history files accordingly to the contact names and then
send them to e.g. Gmail, which, from his side, could store store 'em
together with regular mail and GTalk logs (of course, if you use one).
the obvious advantage will be that one search will look through your
mail and your IM logs when you search for something, so you won't need
to search your mail and grep your cicq history separately.

but may be someone could share his experience?
