Compiling and Building issues

Hi all,

I'm starting a new thread for all issues concerning building from git.

At the moment I have some problems and as I am very new to autoconf,
automake etc. I don't know what to do.

I'm using Ubuntu Edgy and I think the problem might be, that I'm missing
some packages/libs or have the wrong versions.
Maybe someone could provide me a list of necessary libs and their
versions, so I could check that. I think that would also be something to
put into the docu.

OK, while writing this e-mail I found out, that I need a new version of
gettext (ubuntu has 0.15, but 0.16 is needed, according to autogen.sh's
output). Anyway such a list would be nice.

PS: Any hints on where to set up a documentation? Stephane, is the Wiki
writable for "normal" users? I didn't find the "Edit" button
