I do appreciate it very much and also vote for it, that you had a look at libgaim. I totally aggree with you on that. I don't know how much work implementing libgaim costs compared to the UTF-8 support, but I think UTF-8 support is slightly more important, as I think the actual libraries are working (at least with all patches applied). But as I cannot code *g* I can only hope you or Stéphane (or anybody else) considers UTF-8 as important as I do.
