So do I. I had a look once, very quick, and we certainly can make it work 
somehow. This will require mayor rework though, but it will be worth the 
effort.

Gaim supports multiple languages (even in one chat). If there must be 
support from libgaim for this, we get a lot of the utf-8 stuff for free.

If it's `only' a ui thing, we can still cheat and look at gaim.

It's not a hard requirement for me, but i'd like to be able to discuss 
math eg using the unicode symbols, in stead of making ascii thingies up.

There used to be such simple directions, back in the days before they invented
parallel universes - Up and Down, Right and Left, Backward and Forward, Past
and Future...
But normal directions don't work in the multiverse, which has far too many
dimensions for anyone to find their way. So new ones have to be invented so
that the way can be found.
Like: East of the Sun, West of the Moon
Or: Behind the North Wind.
Or: At the Back of Beyond.
Or: There and Back Again.
Or: Beyond the Fields We Know.
